The Asian adventure ends for Auchan
The French retailer is leaving Asia by selling its Taiwanese stores to PX-Mart. Faced with the dynamics of local players, Asia is a market where foreign retailers are becoming rare.
A year ago, Auchan sold all business operations in mainland China to Alibaba in a €3-billion deal. However, the grocery retailer remained active in Asia with a 64.83% stake in RT Mart in Taiwan (€805 million turnover in 2020).
